Marketing Made Simple TV was an awesome show created and hosted by yours truly. But it also gave me a world-class network. Let me share an example.
By the way, the domain was “stolen” while I was hospitalized. The domain expired while I was in an induced coma and someone else took it. Unfortunately, www.marketingmadesimple.tv isn’t even working now.
I recently moved down to the Tampa Bay area and I wanted to publish with the Business Marketing Association. But there were none in Florida. Let’s create one.
So I sent an email to the Executive Director. A few days later I got a reply, but that is where it ended. I got no more emails. I emailed him and never got a reply. He’s an older man, so email might not be the best.
Needed to talk to him on the phone, so I needed his number But who has his phone number?
Then I realized my good friend and Chief Marketing Officer Sandra Zoratti would undoubtedly have it, as she has blogged about the BMA in Denver So I sent a text message to her mobile phone and in seconds I got the reply “Yes, I have his number, Jeff. Let me look it up.”
Soon thereafter, I had the Executive Director’s mobile phone number.
I called him the next day and we had a nice chat on forming a chapter of the BMA. He said they are working on new paperwork and need two weeks, but start forming a Board of Directors right away headed by me, Jeff Ogden of Find New Customers.
If I had not created Marketing Made Simple TV, I would not have known Sandra and I would not have gotten the mobile phone number of the executive director of the BMA.
What do you think? Love comments here.
