Friday is Veterans Day, a time to remember the brave men and women who defended our country.
My brother took me to watch a movie called Hacksaw Ridge (video included) directed by Mel Gibson that featured a highly underestimated private that saved a great many men at Io Jima after a major battle there.
Badly understated he would not carry a gun for personal reasons. After climbing up a net to battle the Japanese, they retreated down after the Japanese attacked. But he personally stayed up in the battle area and down loaded so many man to safety and saved many, many lives. His motto: Just one more.
He is undoubted a true American hero to all and thanks to Mel Gibson for sharing his wonderful story with us all.
What do you think? Have those in your family served in the Army, Navy, Coast Card or Air Force? If so, thanks to each and every one of you.
Love your comments here on your personal experiences.
